MacBark & Scratch is an AsureQuality approved boarding kennel and cattery located near Helensville, just north of Auckland, New Zealand.

Your pet’s stay at MacBark & Scratch will be like a home away from home. Small numbers of guests ensure personal, individualised care. We are owner-operators, so your pet is cared for by the same people each time he or she stays with us.

All pets are given cuddles, treats and grooming at no charge. Special diets and medications catered for.

Our membership in the AsureQuality Approved Boarding Kennel and Cattery Programme is independent proof that as your pet's home away from home, we are committed to the highest standards of animal welfare.

We also raise a variety of chicken breeds, available for purchase.

We are open from 8am to 10am and 3.30pm to 5pm daily except for Sunday mornings. We are closed on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.

Hi, we’re Lynda and David Macgregor, your pet’s hosts. We know and love dogs and cats, having owned both for more than 40 years. We have bred, shown, and trained German Shepherds for more than 30 years. We’ve also had toy poodles, one of which was obedience trained at the German Shepherd Dog League and was more obedient than our German Shepherds!

We have bred and sold puppies to the New Zealand Armed Forces.

On our retirement over seven years ago we set up MacBark & Scratch boarding kennels. We are now living our dream. We breed and milk British Alpine dairy goats, and we’re also passionate about our pure bred poultry.
